What is your cancellation policy?

Annual conference dates and registration fees are established each year well in advance of the conference. Requests for refunds must be made in writing via e-mail or US Mail. Requests for refunds must be received at least 30 days prior to the conference. A $25 fee will be incurred. There will be no refunds for cancellation after 30 days or for “No Shows”. Substitutions may be made by submitting documentation stating the name of the person and the reason for the substitution. A $25 administration fee will be incurred for substitutions and is payable on or before the day of the conference.

Do I need to sign up for sessions and special events?

Yes, you will. Registered attendees will be asked to choose breakout sessions in advance and RSVP for site visits and the reception in February 2017. We want to make sure we have sufficient space for your sessions and food for events. You will receive an email after the first of the year with more information. Thank you again for signing up to present at SC’s 2017 Nonprofit Summit!

In less than a month, we will all convene March 6-8, 2017 at the Columbia Marriott (Hampton Street in downtown Columbia, SC). Please visit the Summit website for the full program and lots more information! We anticipate nearly 600 attendees.

All sessions are 60 minutes. We have you confirmed for:

If you have not registered yet, PLEASE DO SO ASAP BY CLICKING HEREselect “presenter” under ticket type which will make your balance $0 for the day you are presenting.

We strongly encourage you to attend the entire Summit, at the very low presenter rate of only $125! We offer presenters this low rate because we know how much learning happens in the hallways and during receptions. These casual conversations with presenters are often what folks remember most. Thank you for considering giving back by making yourself available in this manner. Who knows, perhaps you too will leave with a few new ideas and options for tackling a nagging problem or two.

In designing your presentation, we kindly ask you to visit SCANPO’s blog site to read about the Summit theme (“Healthier Together”). Where appropriate, we hope you will connect your message to the Summit’s larger message, as we know repetition and connection helps people remember.

Also, please to give consideration to SCANPO’s Learning Principles in your design as well.

  • Include problem/solution-focused content that explains the session’s stated learning objectives.
  • Consider covering less material if it will allow you to include interaction and sharing of experiences among participants. When possible use case studies or exercises that allow participants to apply skills taught. People are more likely to remember what they, than what they hear.
  • Design and facilitate your session for visual, kinesthetic, and auditory learning styles.
  • Create quality handouts, worksheets, reference materials for participants to use during and after the workshop.

When will presentations be available?

If our staff is provided a copy of a speaker’s presentation, we will add it to the speaker’s bio page on this website for download. Be sure to check this site during and after the conference for presentations.

Are continuing education credits available?

No, we will not be offering continuing education credits for specific Summit sessions that meet the needs.

What is a flex pass?

The flex pass is new this year and only available to full SCANPO member organizations. The flex pass grants access to all three days of the Nonprofit Summit, and may be only be passed among staff and board members of the member organization which purchased it. Are there session evaluations?

Yes, and we want your feedback! Your comments will greatly influence next year’s Summit design and content. Please take time to complete the overall and individual session evaluations each day. You will find the link at

Are there additional hotel accommodations available if the host hotel is sold out?

A special rate is available for Summit attendees of $149 for a king studio suite. Call the hotel direct at 803-451-5900 and ask for the SCANPO Summit Block.

Staybridge Suites

Staybridge Suites is an all-suites hotel located on Huger Street. Suites feature full-size, fully equipped kitchens and a complimentary hot breakfast buffet is provided each morning as well as a complimentary full dinner with beer and wine Mon-Thurs. Onsite parking is complimentary.

Columbia is poised and ready for Summit. Everyone will most certainly have a comfortable place to rest their head after a busy day of learning, networking and having fun.

Is Wi-Fi available during the conference?

FREE Wi-Fi is available to all Summit hotel guests in your rooms AND to Summit attendees. The network name you should choose will coincide with your room location. Choose the one with the strongest connection. The password for all meeting room locations is summit. No password is required for lodging locations.

Will meals be provided?

Yes, meals and snacks are provided.
